The Palace at One&Only Royal Mirage
Located on a kilometre-long stretch of idyllic private coastline, The One & Only Royal Mirage is regarded as one of the most stylish resorts on Jumeirah Beach. It was one of the first luxury hotels in Dubai to embrace traditional Arabian design, and its arches, domes and towers make a pleasing contrast with the lofty skyscrapers of the surrounding modern city. The Royal Mirage is composed of three distinct properties - The Palace, Arabian Court and the Residence & Spa.
The Palace is the original part of the Royal Mirage resort, situated at its southern end. Its design lives up to its name, displaying a regal and majestic presence with a style straight out of Arabian Nights. Its public areas are all fitted out in ornate Arabesque decor, designed to evoke the grandeur and hospitality of Old Arabia.
The Palace offers a rich choice of leisure facilities, including several pools and a water-sports centre. In particular, its centrepiece is the majestic palm-fringed Grand Pool, with turquoise and sand crackled glass tiles and mosaic inlays. The Royal Ballroom, which can accommodate up to 350 people, provides a stunning venue for social events, especially weddings.
The Palace has four on-site restaurants, including The Olives, an all-day-dining restaurant on a bougainvillea-covered restaurant by the pool, where Mediterranean cuisine is served at marble-topped tables amongst luxuriant shrubberies. The Tagine, serving dinner only, is the place for Moroccan food, with walls hand-polished and wax-plastered in the Moroccan tradition. Its arches and alcoves create the ambience of a traditional Moroccan home.
The venue for a special occasion is the Celebrities Restaurant, in which you arrive via a grand staircase into a stunning multi-level interior. Romantic lighting, and a wall fountain trickling over hand-painted tiles, enhance the elegant atmosphere and help you enjoy the distinctive international cuisine. For more informal dining, the Beach Bar and Grill serves freshly-grilled seafood throughout the day on a shaded terrace, where you can dine at night by flickering candlelight.
One of the Royal Mirage's most popular haunts is the Palace's Jetty Lounge, a beach-side bar with a laid-back Mediterranean ambience. It's considered a great place to enjoy a pre-dinner or after-dinner drink, but light snacks are available as well. In contrast, the Kasbar is an ultra-chic late-evening entertainment venue.
