A tiny island paradise in the midst of a protected marine park is home to this exquisite boutique hideaway, which more than lives up to its name. The Enchanted Island Resort in the Seychelles combines a stunning natural environment with an imaginative and thoughtful approach to casual luxury, creating a serene sanctuary that allows you to reconnect with nature and indulge all of your senses. Amid the dazzling white beaches, lush vegetation and intriguing rock formations, you can wake every morning to some of the world's most sensational views, as well as to excitement and adventure.
Your five-star experience begins the moment you touch down at Mahé Airport, where you are greeted with refreshing cocktails in the private lounge, and chauffeured to the Mahé jetty for the brief speedboat transfer to the island and your villa. The resort's architecture is designed to reflect the charm and the romantic heritage of old Seychelles, and features plenty of use of old takamaka woods. Throughout the resort are scattered 150 pieces of antique Seychellois furniture, which were handpicked from the islands and beautifully restored in India, before being brought to the hotel.
In the building of the resort as a whole, great care was taken to ensure the environment was completely undisturbed. The materials were ferried in by flat-bottomed barge, to avoid damaging the coral, no trees were uprooted, and no boulders were moved from their natural places. Consequently the resort facilities have taken shape around the landscape, with walkways weaving among granite rock formations and verdant greenery.
The hotel's delights extend to dining at the gorgeous Bounty Restaurant, situated at the main pool overlooking the Indian Ocean. The executive chef has a background of working in three Michelin-starred restaurants across France, as well as working in Monaco under the renowned chef Alain Ducasse, and uses the freshest vegetables and herbs from the hotel's own greenhouse. Unsurprisingly he creates outstanding contemporary gourmet cuisine, with authentic Creole influences, which is acclaimed as being among the best in the Seychelles.
Meanwhile the Castaway Bar invites you to revel in the glorious golden sunsets, or relax under the canopy of stars, while enjoying a choice of exotic aperitifs or cocktails, or a nightcap and cigar. Private dining is available throughout the day, from breakfast in bed, to a light lunch in the gazebo beside your private pool, or a moonlight dinner. For couples and honeymooners, there is the ultra-romantic Enchanted Package, including private candle-lit dining, personalised bath menus, and couple's spa treatments.
