Welcome to the Island

On your arrival at the island jetty, after an incredibly scenic seaplane flight from Malé, you are escorted to the hotel lobby, where the staff welcome you with a drum-and-song routine. The lobby and other public areas are constructed in a picturesque Maldivian style, with thatched roofs, and high ceilings of dried palm leaves. There is plenty of tropical vegetation everywhere, the highlight being a beautiful 40-year-old coconut plantation. 

At the heart of the resort is a lovely infinity pool by the beach, with a chic design. and looking as if it merges right into the turquoise waters of the lagoon. It's surrounded by cushioned day beds and loungers, and has a food and drink service. For the ultimate relaxation and indulgence, there's the Duniye Spa, offering Asian-inspired treatments using organic products.

Wine and Dine in Style

The main buffet restaurant is Falhu, where you can savour a wide array of international menus from six live cooking stations, at a table on the sand or on a deck overlooking the lagoon. The Aqua fine dining restaurant, known as one of the best in the Maldives, is set on stilts over the lagoon, with glass floors for marvelling at the under-water marine life. Here you can enjoy spectacular culinary experiences, with world-class cuisine including fresh delicacies straight from the Indian Ocean, complemented by fine wines from around the world. 

The social hub of the island is the romantic Kandu Bar, located beside the infinity pool, with an outdoor deck overlooking the lagoon -- as well as champagne, spirits and a range of cocktails, there's an exceptional wine list, and a background of live music. The Thundi Bar is set right on the sands, on the south side of the island, where you can relax with a refreshing cocktail while gazing at the ocean.  For a truly romantic evening, you can arrange a candle-lit dinner on the beach, for which you can compose your own menu with the Executive Chef. 

Out on the Water

Making the most of the stunning marine environment, there are a variety of exciting excursions on offer, like snorkelling safaris, sunset cruises, island hopping and night fishing -- not to mention a picnic on the resort's own deserted coral island. The diving is spectacular, with access to over 50 dive sites. You can stick to the beautiful house reef, where sea turtles are a frequent sighting, and eagle rays, manta rays, and dolphins are regularly to be spotted, or you can hop on a traditional dhoni dive boat and go further out, to sites like Anemone Thila, amid great shoals of clownfish, and nurse sharks slumbering on the sea bed.
