From the moment you arrive and throughout your stay, your Ambassador acts as your exclusive concierge, butler, and Caribbean host, there day and night to meet your every need and attend to your every whim. Since guests have no need to contact Reception for anything, The House has done away with the reception and concierge desks altogether, along with many other trappings of the conventional hotel, and encourages you to consider yourself a guest in a private residence.
This means that from the moment guests cross the wooden draw-bridge over the fragrant water-lily lake, they know they have entered a different world. Guests are welcomed on arrival, not just with a cold drink, but with a complimentary 30-minute jet lag massage, to aid revival from the stresses of the long flight. This is followed by afternoon tea and evening canapés.
The House has recently undergone a radical refurbishment, with décor in the South Beach style, blended with a true Caribbean spirit and flair. Throughout the public areas, smooth lines of teak, modern lighting and curved lanterns reflect free-flowing forms of beach-side landscapes. Furnishings are contemporary, with brightly coloured cushions scattered on white sofas, and huge vases filled with locally-sourced fresh flowers are everywhere.
The beautiful gardens full of green lawns and colourful shrubs and flowers lead down to one of the most stunning beaches in the Caribbean. The private beach is scattered with fabulously comfortable day-beds, where guests can enjoy a complimentary beach service providing cold towels, fruit and spritzers of Evian water, as well as a drinks service. The grounds contain a two-level pool complex surrounded by cushioned sun-loungers, where guests can have delicious cocktails brought to them on request.
Yet another unique feature of The House is the daily complimentary champagne breakfast, which is served in the open-air lounge. For lunch and dinner, the acclaimed Zagat-rated Daphne's Restaurant, next door to the hotel, offers metropolitan versions of Italian cuisine, with a focus on sea food -- dishes made famous by the restaurant's London counterpart, but regarded by many as even better here. The weekly theme dinners give guests the chance to sample local specialities, at the Bajan Beach Buffet and the Fisherman's Night.
The House has two nearby sister hotels, the Tamarind and the Colony Club, where guests can take a water taxi and use all the facilities. Facilities at The House include the spa and the fitness centre, and complimentary activities include water skiing, snorkelling and wind surfing.
